SCRNC was initiated in November 2014 by scholars working on urban shrinkage in China, including Ying Long, Xun Li and Kang Wu. Its first two conferences were held at Sun Yat-sen University in May 2016 and Hunan University in September 2017.
中国收缩城市研究网络于2014年11月由龙瀛、李郇、吴康等学者共同发起；首届与第二届学术研讨会分别于2016年5月在中山大学、2017年9月在湖南大学举行。

A living archive of research, fieldwork, meetings and public exhibitions. The network brings together demographic evidence, spatial analysis and planning practice to understand cities beyond a growth-only model.
EARLY RESEARCH FRAME / 早期研究框架
An early census-based study tracked resident-population change across 39,007 townships; 19,882 were losing population in 2000–2010. This historical frame led to later city-scale evidence, fieldwork and planning studies.
早期基于人口普查的研究覆盖39,007个乡镇，其中19,882个在2000—2010年间出现常住人口减少；这一历史框架推动了后续城市尺度的证据、调研与规划研究。

国际收缩城市研究网络（SCiRN™）
SCiRN™ is the Shrinking Cities International Research Network, established in 2004. Its comparative programme links 25 scientific partners across five continents and case studies in 30 cities; meetings and symposia have been organised since 2005.
SCiRN™创立于2004年，以统一研究框架连接五大洲25个科研伙伴和30个案例城市，并自2005年起组织会议与专题研讨。

太平洋亚洲收缩城市研究联盟（PASCRA）
PASCRA connects shrinking-cities research networks in China, Japan and South Korea. It grew from the Pacific Asia Shrinking Cities seminar held at Konkuk University in Seoul on 26 April 2025; its official website now includes the 2026 annual conference in Kyoto.
PASCRA连接中国、日本与韩国的收缩城市研究网络，源于2025年4月26日在首尔建国大学举行的太平洋亚洲收缩城市研讨会；其官方网站现已发布2026年京都年会信息。
